Picturesque Rottingdean has a colourful history, peppered with tales of Saxons and smuggling.

More recently it has provided the inspiration for artists and writers. Rudyard Kipling wrote some of his most famous stories here and D.H. Lawrence preferred the village to 'stately' Brighton.

At the heart of Rottingdean are quaint cottages, genteel houses, narrow streets, a pond and a green. Radiating out, the village embraces a residential area that reflects a range of different property styles.

Ovingdean, Roedean, Woodingdean and Falmer - which are also served by Lampons at Rottingdean - provide an extended source of quality modern homes and period properties. Surrounded by beautiful open countryside, the area has easy road access to Brighton, Lewes, Gatwick Airport and London.
